What a great experience. 3rd year in a row we have returned for an opening weekend hunt. Very crowded in some spots, not so much in others. Stayed in Hosington. Nice small town, great folks, friendly. Visited Deception Outdoors, the maker of the only Sandhill Crane full body decoy. Very life like and realistic. All decoys made are top notch, made in Hosington. Great Bend is a nice Place with plenty to do as well. Be sure to stop by the Nature Center on the SE side of the Bottoms for a very interesting video on how the Bottoms came about and how the Bottoms helps all wildlife.

One of the largest wetland refuge areas within the United States! A go to spot for bird watchers and photographers from all over the country.
Seems a place lost, and so far away..... so much of our great country I will never see. Be strong Kansans, you are loved and valued by your fellow Americans.
